Ooooh CONCOURS!
And I’ve got nothing on the mystery car. It’s impossible to know.

Isn’t the MysteryMobile a Macanokonatiguana X1?

One could do worse.

Classic Luxury Hatchback. Probably the first. :-)x

Wheels and tires have come a long ways since this set was purchased.

Uh huh. I never see these. Also, red velour interior that I didn’t get a pic of.
And thanks for nothin’.

Yup...I think?

One has.

Top trim of a basic box rushed to market and built to a price. Better than we had a right to expect.

Those wheels alone have come a long way since they were purchased.

The Nova used to be everywhere - but even then the Concours wasn’t common. Now it’s practically a unicorn.
The red velour might be original but all that paint on the outside sure is not.

Edit: nevermind
![]() 02/27/2020 at 15:08 |

Yeah, and I’ll be honest, I didn’t recognize it sitting there when I passed it.
I hadn’t th ought about the paint, but you’re probably right. This is no show car or garage queen though. It’s a daily.

Not really laughing that much. I genuinely like it.

It was the script on the trunk that caught my eye.
The Concours was the “luxury” trim, so it had more chrome than a regular Nova. All the black trim would have been bright.
It’s funny but the Jaaaaaag is the same color scheme as the Concours.

Yup. Me too.
Honestly, the Jag’s red is nice, but a little more orange than my ideal taste. The Nova’s deeper red actually looked better to me.

The windowless
front of that Albertson’s makes it
look
like a strip club. One that also does propane exchanges.

Some law enforcement agencies had Nova police cars.

It’s just begging for a circle track demo derby.

“Special today: 10% off all merchandise!” kind of takes on a new meaning in a strip club.

Who knew you were that cool? Nice wheels.
![]() 02/27/2020 at 16:00 |

Yeah, I saw one in the showroom of a luxury dealership once, of all places.

Not a Concours! Heathen!

I got rid of the wheels. It was a pretty horrible car in a number of respects. But dependable.
![]() 02/27/2020 at 16:09 |
|
I mean, yeah, but dependability is the only thing that really counts at that age.

It was a horrible car. It shows up in my dreams sometimes. I mean, the car itself was okay, but the mods that had been done to it horribled it a good deal. And no AC and I was in central Louisiana with it in Summer. Now, in fairness to the car, I was in a horrible location, which did nothing to help me appreciate the car. But it was a pretty horrible car, by and large.
I am now finished reminiscing about horrible things.

With the F-41 suspension package, they could really handle, and not just by the low standards of American cars of the time. Almost a cheap BMW alternative.

Interesting.
